Travis Heights Residence
A Vintage Home Gains a Modern Edge
the goal
Make thoughtful, budget-conscious updates to highlight the charm and personality of a 1930's two-bedroom home.
the process
Our team started by undoing years of bad updates. We refloated the drywall in order to create a consistent, smooth texture throughout the house. We removed extra cabinets and dropped ceilings. The floors were refinished in a dark stain to create a strong contrast to the Gypsum white walls. As the owner traveled for business, he trusted us to collaborate with his architect on refining design details and creating a clean, unique space.
the final result
The home is bright, airy and elegant. A new set of French doors invite the sun into a once dark dining space and allow access to an inviting outdoor dining area. The kitchen boasts a floor-to-ceiling backsplash and simple open-shelf storage. The living room feels spacious and modern with its new limestone hearth.
